Thomas began playing the trumpet at the age of nine. He played in the NorCal Honor Band and the North Bay Honor Band in high school. He began to play professionally with salsa and latin rock groups in the Solano County area at the age of fifteen.

Thomas attended Chico State University and later Berklee College of Music, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Professional Music with an emphasis in education in 2014. Thomas has taught special education and music since his graduation.

Thomas is a strong improvisor, composer, songwriter, and arranger. He performs regularly throughout the greater San Francisco Bay Area and in the North Bay. With extensive training in performance, composition, and arranging, Thomas is an excellent teacher for brass and voice students as well as anyone interested in composition or arranging.

Thomas is also an experienced band director. Thomas has directed wind ensembles, orchestras, big bands, jazz combos, latin rock bands, as well as hip hop and r&b groups. Thomas is an adept leader of musicians playing together. Thomas loves to work with young people and he provides a fun, positive learning environment.
