Christian is currently studying at the California Jazz Conservatory working on his bachelor’s degree in jazz studies. Growing up in church, he was exposed to music at an early age. His first instrument was clarinet which he began playing at the age of nine. He started playing drums at age twelve. At fourteen he started learning piano and has been playing in church ever since.
Christian has a strong understanding of music theory and a diverse taste in music. He has experience playing jazz, afro-cuban, salsa, brazilian, R&B, hip-hop, neo-soul, funk, and gospel music. Christian prides himself on his versatility and understanding of various genres. In addition to piano, he is also available for beginner/intermediate conga lessons.
Christian has been involved in various church circles throughout the San Francisco Bay Area playing for conventions and other events, as well as music directing for various artists and projects. Outside of music, Christian enjoys playing football and soccer, going on hikes, and learning Brazilian Portuguese.
